A Day in the Nest: Nursery In-house Event
The Nursery Classes at Delhi Public School Vapi boomed with excitement on September 3 and 4, 2024 as we welcomed parents for a special in-house event, "Exploration Day." This event was designed to give parents an inside look into the daily routine of their little ones and the diverse range of activities that contribute to their holistic development. The principal, Dr Vidya Sanath Kumar, ignited the event's spirit while she addressed the attendees, expressing her gratitude for their involvement in their children's education and emphasised the significance of early childhood development. She highlighted the day’s agenda, giving parents a glimpse of what to expect as they observe their children throughout various sessions and activities. Parents watched their children explore early literacy and numeracy through playful and interactive lessons. The bright smiles and focused expressions on the children's faces were a testament to their enjoyment and engagement. The event then transitioned into a lively dance and music session. The children, led by their enthusiastic teachers, moved to the rhythm of catchy tunes, expressing themselves through dance. The parents witnessed integrated learning and their children's creativity and joy in motion. This segment of the day highlighted the importance of movement and music in fostering emotional expression and cognitive development. In a calming contrast to the previous activities, the children then participated in a yoga session. Parents observed as their little ones practiced various poses, promoting both physical flexibility and mindfulness. Next, parents were invited to observe a motor skills session. This part of the day was filled with energy as the children participated in various activities designed to enhance their physical development. From balancing on the blocks to obstacle courses, the children demonstrated impressive coordination and strength, all while having a great time.
The event wrapped up with a round of applause for the children and their teachers. Parents left with a deeper understanding and appreciation of their children's daily experiences at school.
