International Dance Day
“Dance is the Joy of the Movement and Heart of the Life.”
International Dance Day is celebrated on the 29th of April every year. This day is celebrated to give value to this spectacular art form. We believe that the power of dance is limitless.
The students from classes I to VII celebrated this art form through a special assembly organized by DPS Vapi. The aim of celebrating International Dance Day is to rejoice in the dance, revel in the universality of this art form, cross all cultural barriers, and bring people together with a common language – DANCE.
We at Delhi Public School Vapi passionately commemorated this special day through a Special Assembly themed, ‘Quintessence of Indian Folks’ on the 28th of April 2023.
The students of DPS Vapi are very well accustomed to the significance of Dance in one’s routine lifestyle. They understand that ‘Dance’ can prepare anyone for life. The word Dance is a perfect blend of Discipline; Attitude; Never Quit; Confidence and Expression.
The idea behind celebrating ‘International Dance Day’ was to encourage participation and educate students about multiple dance forms as well as different Folk Dances of India. The Indian folks - Tippani, Kaikotikali, Bihu, Cheraw, Bhangra, and Koli dances were meticulously executed with pure coordination. Folk dances are performed for every possible occasion - to celebrate the arrival of seasons, the birth of a child, a wedding and festivals and much more. Indian folk dances are full of energy and vitality. The scintillating dancers performed glimpses of exuberant revelries happening in the different parts of our country.
The dancing divas of the Pre-primary section participated enthusiastically in the dance workshop conducted by the dance department. The performance was a blend of meticulously choreographed footsteps and grace.
These mesmerizing, powerful and alluring dances left the audience awe-struck with their perfect energetic performances.
