Garba Competition
Vagyo Re Dhol …..!
Re Vagyo Re Dhol……!
Navratri is a festival of triumph of good over evil. It is celebrated annually to honour Goddess Durga, who is the epitome of strength and ferocity. The festival of Navratri signifies the victory of Goddess Durga over the evil demon Mahishasura, after nine days of a vicious battle. Though the festival of Navrati has ended, the celebration still continues in form of an Inter-house Garba Competition. The students of DPS Vapi, from classes 3 to 6, celebrated Navratri with great zeal, spreading a wide range of vibrance and energy through their participation.
On the 11th of October, the students were ready in their traditional attire to perform in the Graba competition and enjoy themselves together.
The state of Gujarat is famous for its Garba celebrations and Dandiya dance forms. These traditional dance forms were exemplified by our students in the inter-house Garba Competition. Our dancing stars of the different houses started the celebration with a slow beat Garba dance, but they ended it up in the most energetic one. The school’s houses namely Aquila, Pavo, Tucana and Cygnus gave their best performances to beat the Garba challenge. We at DPS Vapi celebrated the most adorned festival with a great pomp. In all, it was a day filled with great delight and excitement.
