Shapes Week
Pre-primary classes @ DPS Vapi observed ‘Shapes Week’ with an aim to promote the understanding of shapes and enable students to be more in tune with the world around them and see the visual connections between objects. Seeing the objects around us sets a tune in the mind, Shapes here, Shapes there…Shapes shapes everywhere!!!. Students enjoyed the array of enthralling activities planned to upraise shapo-education. The activities executed were catering to the development of motor skills, cognitive skills and social skills. Pre-nursery class experienced a cluster of activities and games like Shape Hunt, Dancing square game, Create rectangle shape with pom pom and tweezers, clay dough moulding, Shape trekking, hop up on the rings, feed the monster, blindfolded sensory play, paper cup painting and build your pyramid, triangle shape formation on Geo-boards, culinary mouth-watering sandwich making activity added the relish element. The children crafted and created a wall hanging with multiple shapes and colours on it as a takeaway.
The champs of the Nursery class also had a super energy mode on throughout the week while participating in the activities. The children's enthusiasm doubled seeing the shapes turning into meaningful objects while performing the art and craft activities using specific shapes and creating a square man, turkey, fish and caterpillar. The musical shape-stopper game was a super hit for the little tots. The children had a brain-churning riddle time, ‘Shape tracer’.
The cherubs of Prep showed full zeal while they played the Shape Hunt game. The captivating craft creations like kite, Penguin, photo frame and fish amazed children and helped them learn and apply the concept of shapes as well.
A didactic activity-rich week was enjoyed by the inquisitive learners and was indeed fruitful and a huge success.
